Koibeyondpond Truly Goes Beyond the Pond! Day 1

Hi all! Miss me? Im sure you do! CHUSERA! Well I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Kinarir ko lang talaga ang Holy Week and I decided to devote more time for Him. I won't share more about my reflections bilang serious yun- not funnn.

---
I felt lucky having a 6-day weekend. Thanks to the office summer outing last Monday and Tuesday. Well, we spent one day and a half at some far far place called MANILA OCEAN PARK! Layo no? But even if it was a mere 40-50 minute drive from Katipunan, it did not mean the experience was less fun. In fact, kinabagan lang ako sa kakatawa!

Trivia flash: Before I learned about the wonderful world of the male species, I had fish as pets. CHAROT! So basically, mahilig talaga ako sa mga isda.

Got to Manila Ocean Park at around 11:oo AM Monday

Drop-off point pa lang kodakan na! That's Ms. Nimfa, Auee and Koibeyondpond

Walked a little more into the complex and...

Welcome to Manila Ocean Park!!! Tourist na tourist lang ang peg!

We stayed overnight at the Hotel H2O which was within the complex. In fairness to the place, it was sowsyal!

A panoramic view of the main lobby.

It was so hot that day so while checking-in...

Pose muna!
Subtext: Get ready Little Mermaid, eto na ang katapat mo!

And here's our room!

Don't be fooled by the background! Hindi yan wall paper but a real aquarium! KABOGG!

O diba? Real swimming fish! May yellow fin, lapu-lapu, talakitok and bangus. CHOZ. Actually I don't know their names ang kilala ko lang si Nemo!

While waiting for Dani to arrive, we had lunch by the sea.

Eating in style. The air wasn't exactly fresh (duh Manila Bay) But kebs! Gutom na ako!

Toured a little more...

Chaneling Divine Lee's Cross over. CHE!

Meanwhile in the Lounge we saw something interesting...

3 Newspapers had almost the same headlines!
Nako ah! COVER YOUR PAPERS! NO COPYING! (Teacher?)

So our first activity was the trip to the Oceanarium...

But wait akala ko ba Oceanarium?? Bakit parang nasa rain forest?!?!

This greeted us in the entrance...

Giant I don't know fish!

I swear ang laki niya! KROKOOOOT! While observing that huge creature all I could think of was this...

Holy week hangover much???

Walking into the park, we saw this!!!!

Ay I like!!!!

You dip the feeding bottle into the aquarium and the Kois will be attacking the nipple like hungry babies

CERTIFIED PANATAG MOM!
Sorry anak ah, kapos tayo eh! Share share muna!

Meanwhile I noticed something more exciting than feeding the Kois...

Thank you Auee for being the props! CHOZ. But please direct your attention to that kerreh Ocenarium crew!
Italic
Parang gusto kong lumapit at sabihing " Hi! I'm Koi too! Will you feed me please?" CHAROT

So maraming mga isdang makukulay along the trail. Some were beautiful some were panget. Some were pretty to have in an aquarium while some were bagay na ihain pang-ulam!

The most bongga part...

Theme: Saklolo! With a smile

There were live corals, manta rays and sharks!

Speaking of sharks there was a tank full of them...

AIRPORT?!?! Hoy mga batugan may mga turista! Mag-inarte kayo!

Then we went to see the sea lions...

And saw something more! Hey kere! Atenshun!

We went to see tanks of jelly fish too! And the laser light show but I don't have the pics yet :)

And that's day 1!

Watch out for Day 2! The fish spa (pag-iinarte videos included HAHA), going to the gym (!) doing the belly dance (!!!) and battling Little Mermaid!

Blocks to Breakthroughs

Challenges come on a daily basis. It could go as simple as how to cross the street to more complicated ones like how to say no to someone asking you out on a date. (Both examples are lifted from my current experiences. CHUICE!) Well as the wise people would say, we shouldn't be focusing on the problem but how on we approach it. If we succeed, congratulations! If we fail then at least we have lessons to learn.

In the tradition of Semana Santa (ano daw?!?), I would like to share my latest challenge. At sasagarin ko na sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng tips on how you can overcome your personal challenges too.

O EH ANO NAMANG KINALAMAN NIYAN?!?

Last week, I went to Cantina for a quick chill drinking with my friends. Upon leaving I failed to ask for water so I arrived home with my throat as dry as my love life (aray.) I went straight to the kitchen to get a glass.

Me and my bratty self thought of three possible approaches to my concern:

1. A man can live without water for 3 days. Ano ba naman ang overnight? Itutulog ko nalang to!
2. I-refill ang dispenser. Pero hello naman sa 5 gallons!!! Baka maputol naman ang arms ko niyan!
3. Bumili ng tubig sa 7-11 just outside the village. Yung mejo malaki na para good for 5 days. At least yun kaya kong buhatin.

I opted for the 3rd solution but I decided to change into my pambahay mode first. As I was changing I realized that I was faced with
an opportunity to learn something new (Yes, yun talaga naisip ko. That was not a choz). FINE! OPTION 2 NA!

Here are some tips that I followed as I braved that 5 gallon-monster. Might be helpful for you guys too!

1. Don't dwell on the negative things that can happen. Instead, be realistic and a little more positive. Example:

b. Baka matapon ang water= eh di punasan after!

2. Think of your strength and confidence PEG. Well ang naging peg ko that night was of course...

Xena the Warrior Princess
Because I may be a princess but definitely not a damsel in distress! Charlotte.

3. Channel the energy of your peg. Magcostume, mag make up or kumuha ng props. In my case, nagsisigaw ako sa bahay ng HUUUH! AYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYIYYI!!! Good thing all windows were shut so mejo sound proof.

4. Practice your attack. Well I took the empty container and practiced how I should pour the new one. With matching angle calculations pa!

And so, having followed these steps...

No spill!!! Nothing 2-BIG for me!

After that feeling ko kaya ko nang gawin ang lahat! Magluto, maglaba, magplantsa, maglinis ng banyo, magsaing, magpalit ng pampers! (Ay maid ang peg?)

Basta, win na win! And that elevated me to the ranks of ...

PANATAG!

No, This Is Not Self-Sabotage!

In preparation for Lent, titigilan ko muna ang panlalait ng iba. But since panlalait is like oxygen to me, sarili ko muna ang pagtitripan ko. Chuice!

Anyway, gusto ko lang naman i-share that I am a frustrated artista. Back when I was in grade school, when all kids spent their summer in basketball clinics, ballet dancing and Kiddie Math, I attended acting workshops. Kaya naman forte ko talaga ang mag-inarte! Give me a situation and I can immediately assume the role and deliver impromptu lines. TALENTADA!

Confession: When I was in 2nd grade I tried auditioning for Ang TV Davao. First screening step was to check whether you look good on camera. So pinalinya kami sa studio at isa-isang finocus sa camera. Guess what, pinasadahan lang ako!!! Leche wala man lang close-up! And that killed my what-could-have-been-career.

But that did not stop me from pag-iinarte. Nadala ko na ata ang pag-eemote hanggang ngayon that it even shows in some candid camera shots!

Here are some pictures from my recent Tagaytay trip with friends. Many thanks to Sir Mico for welcoming us in his beautiful house! Warning lang, puro pez ko to! Baka lang pag-sawaan niyo sa dulo...

Candid Shots

Role 1: Ang taong di makapag-porn CHAROT

Problemadong-problemado sa internet!

Role 2: Ang mahilig magsugal pero laging talo

Mahadera lang ang peg!

Role 3: Ang emotera sa videoke!

Eksena to the tune of "Oh please stay by me, Diana!"

Role 4: Ang utusera

"Lapag mo nga yan diyan! Kumakain pa ako eh!"

Posing-posing

Role 5: Channeling Martha Stewart

And I can do dirty jobs too!

Role 6: Artistang nafeature sa YES! Magazine

With a caption "That's me doing the dishes! I really make sure that my new house is clean so I do some household chores even if I have maids." EPEK!

At eto ang pinaka-winner sa lahat!

Nilalamig ako eh! Bakit ba???

Sir Mico told me that this pic reminded him of Anakin Skywalker WOW LALAKE!!! Naexcite naman ako so I asked him to send it to me. Eto pala yung tinutukoy niya...

AFRAAAAIIIID!!! But you must all admit, ACHIEVE!!!

Inay Magda!!!!

Makapag audition na nga! Baboo!

Of Beauty and Life's Lessons (say?)

Last Sunday I stayed up late to watch the 2011 Binibining Pilipinas. At riot lang talaga ang mga kaganapan! If you were able to catch it then you know what I mean. If not, you may check out my tweets HERE. Make sure to follow me para mabasa niyo! PLUG?!?!?!?

I must admit that the contestants this year had much much beauty queen material (in terms of looks and intelligence) in them.

I am still looking for enough material worthy of a separate post. Meanwhile, I was inspired to dig up some videos of former beauty queens who ventured into the world of commercial endorsement.

Troo! And btw, belEUV me mahirap kalaban ang Silver Swan. It wont SELLS like hotcakes kahit na sa SM, Shopwise or Rustans superMORKET pa yan! Char.

Pero kahit ganyan si Melanie, a lot of people still admire her because she has accepted her difficulties and well, capitalized on them to gain more followers. In fact, super idol siya ni Precious Lara Quigaman at talagang following the footsteps ang misyon niya...

Paki explain naman kung ano ang SHEEK??? Tupang may sakit???

Well it's true that you can't have everything in this world. You may be beautiful but dumb, rich but ugly, talented but less fortunate, girl at heart but boy in physique (Chos ibang issue yun).

Joke!

I guess the best thing to do is to accept whatever weakness you may have. And whatever asset you posses, focus on making sure...

that you MEYTEYN it!

PS: I'm not perfect. BOW.

Ang Pagbabalik ng Funny Pics

I've been feeling restless for the past month or so. Parang di ako mapirmi na ewan. Maybe that's why I tend to go to/ hang out in a lot of places lately. Soul searching kumbaga. CHAROT.

Anyway in one of my "trips", I visited the Ateneo and guess what I saw...

Spot koibeyondpond. Pak! Cover girl!!!! Choz. Next time Vogue na! #libremangarap

Anyway, excuse me pero di yan part ng funny pics ah! Here's my latest collection from everywhere!

Current events first! I think every girl in the Philippines is excited to see Justin Bieber in the flesh, sana lang wag ganito ang istura niya...

Chubby much?

And because he is a VVVVVIP, extra security measures must be employed. Baka to a point na may mga decoy just like this...

Alin ang impostora?? Kaloka ah! Para lang siguro magmukhang marami!

And speaking of "para lang", eto para lang masabing may bago...

EH ANO NAMAN NGAYON???
Makakain ko ba yang tumbler na yan?!?!
(galit?)

So I guess the lesson is to keep things simple, short and sincere...

Yes, singular. Dahil isa lang naman talaga ang genuine wish ko for you! Chuice!

(gets? HAHA)

If you guys have more funny pics, send them to koibeyondpond@gmail.com so that we can feature them here :)

Before Janina San Miguel, there was Jeannie Anderson

I watched the Binibining Pilipinas: Road to the Crown last night in ABSCBN at in fair ang masasabi ko lang ay THERE'S LIKE THAT??? Well, I've been watching the pageant since I was a kid and I think this is the first time a pre-show was aired.

It's funny that every year, I tend to fall asleep some time into the show. But I make sure to catch my favorite part which is the question and answer portion. It is where beauty queens are "sifted" from the "just pretty" ladies.

Marami nang quotable quotes from this segment. Most famous I think was Janina San Miguel from circa 2008. I'm sure napanood niyo na yun so di ko na ipopost. But before Janina, there was Jeannie Anderson from Bb. Pilipinas 2006. Watch....

NAKAKABALIW KA TEH!!!!

Just like Coco Martin, we shall do a recap of what took place. This time, let's add the side comments of the characters para fun!. Fictional lang shempre!

David: Candidate Number 15, Jeanie Anderson!

David: Jeanie you’re so tall

David: And for our last judge, our 1969 Ms Universe, Ms. Gloria Diaz

Gloria: Ok Jeanie, Im going to ask you a question that is not necessarily practical but If you were given a chance to choose to become beautiful but not too smart or very smart and not too beautiful. What would you prefer to be and why?

David: Can you repeat it just one more time?

CHUICE!

In fairness, ka-wavelength pala kami ni Dick Gordon...

(Jeanie gives her kalat answer)

Catch the Coronation Night on April 10! And don't forget to vote for Cai, candidate #30, by texting "Binibini 30" to 2331 for Globe and Sun and to 231 for Smart and TNT subscribers.

Baboo!
